A newer model designed on the concept of down-the-line speed. Sparrow lowered the tail rocker and brought the hips out to give a more parallel outline through the mid section. The idea was to create as much immediate drive as possible to get through sections with a little extra boost. The bump wing breaks the tail free, allowing the board to pivot. This gives the design the best of both worlds, speed and maneuverability. The Z-Spear is often ordered as wing-pin and in epoxy, but other tails work with this design, such as a wing-swallow or diamond tail.
